Since 2001, our mission has been to deliver healthy and great-tasting products to be enjoyed with every meal of the day. You see, beginning in 2009, we have won 38+ national food awards at America's largest and most competitive food competitions. We have won national awards for our all-natural salsas, fruit-based barbecue sauces, salad dressings, mustard, jams and more. Our secret to delivering all-natural, great tasting and award-winning products is to use as much locally grown produce as possible in our products. It's a difference you can taste as you enjoy our gourmet food products. We are located in Northern Michigan - the epi-center of tart cherry farming and numerous other fruits and vegetables.

It’s all in the Maple Trees. Our hometown of Bellaire, Michigan is located directly on the 45th parallel north. The 45th parallel north is exactly halfway between the equator and the North Pole. The 45thparallel north is commonly referred to as the “Goldilocks” scenario for farming because is it “not to hot and not too cold”!

Many of the best fruits, vegetables and maple syrup on the planet are grown and harvested along the 45th parallel north. The maple trees that produce our maple syrup a grown naturally in our 45th parallel north farming region.

Our pure maple syrup is made by tapping the perfectly grown sugar maple trees. You see, sugar maple trees that have a number of broken branches, scars, etc. provide less natural pressure to allow the maple to flow naturally.

That is why the maples trees used to produce our maple syrup are examined throughout the year for broken branches, decay, etc. Only prime sugar maple trees are selected for our all-natural and pure maple syrup.

The maple sap harvest only happens a few short weeks of the year. This is during the cool fall and spring months of the year. The sap is used to make our tasty maple syrup. The harvest season is called “the flow”. It usually takes about 40 gallons of sap to make one finished gallon of Traverse Bay Farms maple syrup.

It’s all in the way the maple sap is preparation, collection, production, and bottling. Proper food science and environmentally-friending processes are followed to prep, collect and bottle our Michigan maple syrup.
