In 1935, Lee C. Priester, known as L.C., started a pecan business in Fort Deposit, Alabama, initially serving travelers at his Texaco station. With a request for cracked and shelled pecans, Priester Pecan Company was born. As demand grew, L.C. brought in local help, including his friend Hense Reynolds Ellis, who became a silent partner with a handshake and a $200 loan.

The Ellis family, led by Hense and later Ned Ellis, played crucial roles in expanding the business. Ned's son, Thomas, joined the company at a young age and eventually became the sole owner in 2018. Today, Thomas, along with his wife Melissa and their sons, continues the family legacy at Priester's Pecans.

With multiple generations involved, the Ellis family has kept the tradition alive, with the hope that their grandchildren might carry it forward. Meanwhile, Thomas and his family remain committed to providing top-quality pecan products, ensuring the legacy of Priester's Pecans endures.
