Orzo with Cranberries and Sausage

RiceSelect Traditional Orzo is made with 100% enriched durum semolina wheat. Convenient and versatile, it is the perfect pantry staple for delicious and satisfying meals that can be made at a moment’s notice.
Great in Mediterranean-style salads, stirred into soups or tossed with grilled vegetables for a fast and fabulous side dish. RiceSelect Traditional Orzo is Star-K Kosher Certified.
Add salt to water if desired; bring water to a rapid boil. Gradually add orzo. Stir gently and return to a boil.
Cook uncovered for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Yields approximately 2 ½ cups cooked orzo.
- Spray a large skillet with non-stick cooking spray; heat to medium.
- Add sausage and onion and cook, stirring frequently, until browned, about 5 to 8 minutes.
- Remove sausage from skillet and chop into ¼ inch pieces. Return sausage to skillet with onion.
- Stir in orzo, chicken broth, orange juice, cranberries, and sage; bring to a boil, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat and simmer (covered), until most of the liquid is absorbed, about 15 minutes.
- Remove from heat and let stand covered for 10 minutes. Toss and serve.
