What is Ghee? And What makes Jiva Organics Grass - Fed Pure Ghee AMAZING!?
Ghee is easy to love. It’s unbelievably delicious, like ultra-rich butter, that's been gently caramelized and transformed into a smooth spread. Ghee is clarified butter, a.k.a. butter that has been simmered and strained to remove all water. It's shelf-stable and has a generously high smoke-point, making it pretty much the ideal cooking oil. Oh, and did we mention its distinct flavor and deep roots in well-established Ayurvedic practices? It's a lot to love, but what exactly is ghee, and what’s the best way to maximize its goodness? Read on, friends.
Heat 2 tbsp ghee and shake pan to allow it to heast uniformly. Before the ghee smokes, add 1/2 cup popcorn. Continue to shake and allow steam to escape while popping . Drizzle either with pure ghee or mixture of 1 tbsp ghee and 1 tbsp butter. Salt to taste.
Some coffee drinkers complain about the acidity in coffee impacting their gut and digestive system. Using ghee helps reduce the acidity and inflammation in a couple of ways. First, the calcium in ghee works to neutralize the effect of the acid. Butyrate is a short-chain fatty acid that is found in ghee which has been shown to have an anti-inflammatory quality. So add in a tablespoon of Jiva Organics Pure Ghee and feel the difference!
