Laudemio Castello di Poppiano - Guicciardini - Polyphenols Rich Extra Virgin Olive Oil from Tuscany
From Our Farm to Your Table
Podere La Costa was acquired by "Messer" Luigi Guicciardini il Vecchio from "Monna" Nicolosa Strozzi on October 25, 1384, for 2,300 gold "Scudi." It was then incorporated into the Castello di Poppiano, which the Guicciardini family had owned since the twelfth century.
Today, the estate is owned by Count Ferdinando Guicciardini, and Podere la Costa is managed by his wife, Anna Maria, who oversees the production of Laudemio.
Podere la Costa covers 15 hectares (37 acres) of the 37 hectares (91 acres) on the hills of Castello di Poppiano at elevations between 250 and 280 meters above sea level. Laudemio's annual production ranges from 3,000 to 5,000 liters. The olive variety is almost exclusively Frantoio.
The availability of a dedicated olive mil, equipped with the latest technology at Castello di Poppiano, ensures the optimization of all factors contributing to producing excellent, award-winning extra virgin olive oil, such as Laudemio Podere La Costa.
