From our Farm to Your Table
Loco Galbasa is a life project for Marco and Sandro, the two founders and cousins. Driven by the love for their family land and unique terroir, they joined forces to share their family treasure with all of you. The farm has more than 10,000 olive trees on the hills nearby Agrigento.
All olives are hand-harvested, temporarily stored in small open cases, and milled within hours to best maintain their freshness.
All olives at Loco Galbasa are picked early and are processed within hours in the modern technology estate mill by master millers under the close supervision of Marco and Sandro.
The final result is a unique olive oil with nutraceutical properties and great flavor for the entire family.
The olive oil extraction process does not include added water (aka "two phases" extraction) and relies on water naturally present in the olives to facilitate the production of olive oil. This process results in extra virgin olive oil with lower oxidation, higher polyphenols content, and lower yield.
Modern olive oil mill designed for high-quality small-batch production. Once extracted, the olive oil is filtered to remove impurities and preserve freshness. Finally, the EVOO is stored in stainless steel containers under inert gas to minimize oxidation.
