Since 1892, loyal patrons have been enjoying unique Italian style confections at Ferrara Cafe in the heart of New York’s Little Italy. Preheat oven to 350F and cook shells according to package directions. Saute ground beef in a medium sauce pan until browned, approximately 5-7 minutes, then add onion and cook for another minute. Remove from heat, drain liquid and set aside.
In a large bowl, mix breadcrumbs, cheese, salt, pepper, egg and parsley. Add meat and onion, mix until thoroughly combined. Spread 1 cup of sauce on the bottom of a baking dish or pan. Stuff shells with meat filling, place in dish and cover with remaining sauce. Bake for 25 minutes, let cool 5 minutes before serving. Serves 6-8.
