Barilla Spaghetti

Pairs well with just about any type of sauce you like: simple tomato or a hearty meat sauce, a chunky vegetable or a creamy carbonara sauce.

Did you know that spaghetti is the most popular shape in Italy? The word spaghetti comes from the Italian word 'spaghi', which means 'lengths of cord.'

Twirled properly on a spoon or eaten with just a fork, Barilla Spaghetti will maintain its authentic shape and hold on to just about any kind of sauce you enjoy.

1. Bring 4 - 6 quarts of water to a rolling boil, add salt to taste.

2. Add contents of package to boiling water. Stir gently.

3. Return to a boil. For authentic "al dente" pasta, boil uncovered, stirring occasionally for 9 minutes. For more tender pasta, boil an additional 1 minute.

4. Remove from heat. Drain well.

5. Serve immediately with your favorite Barilla sauce.

2. Heat oil in skillet over medium heat.

3. Add garlic and red pepper flakes; stir for 1 to 2 minutes.

4. Add tomatoes and salt and pepper; reduce heat to low.

5. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

6. Cook Spaghetti according to package directions; drain and return to pot.

7. Add hot pasta to skillet mixture.

8. Add cheese and stir until cheese is slightly melted.

9. Transfer to serving platter.

10. Garnish with oregano leaves.

6. Cook Spaghetti according to package directions and drain.

7. Toss spaghetti with fresh oregano.
