Caffe Aiello ambassador of Italian coffee in the International movie scenes
Quality is all that matters to Aiello. It’s not supplemental, it is the core. It is about keeping alive the family tradition and heritage in crafting a delicious coffee, that became notorious in Italy for its high quality and flavor. Quality for Aiello starts with the selection of premier coffee beans in the major coffee producing Countries of the world, like Colombia, Brazil, and Ethiopia.
Aiello calls it “La Selezione” (the selection), referring to the best Arabica and Robusta beans varieties in the world that they carefully and skillfully hand pick. This is what is essential to Aiello to obtain a top class coffee, “un caffe perfetto”, or “un gran caffe”, as Italians would say.
Aiello is a family owned and run business. Started in 1967 as a small-scale roasting factory in Calabria, nowadays it still honors the values and traditions of the outstanding person who was the founder Gaetano Aiello. He was able to pass on to the next generations his passion, knowledge and insight while teaching them the art of coffee (arte del caffe); from the selection of the finest coffee beans in the Countries he used to travel to, to the secrets of the perfect roasting, to the magic of creating the most balanced and flavorful, consistent in time blends. The family expertness and knowledge extends now for over 50 years, delighting the palates of more and more people around the world with an authentic Italian espresso style coffee.
How do we define the perfect Italian coffee? We recognize it from the irresistible aroma of a well-balanced blend. In fact, Aiello’s Caffe secret is the blending, to be considered as a “recipe” that determines its unique taste. According to these exclusive recipes, created by the founder Gaetano Aiello and perfected overtime by the younger generations, exact quantities of each variety are mixed together, resulting in perfectly harmonic and distinctive blends with wonderful and unique aromas and low acidity. Aiello blends its coffees not before, but after roasting. This allows consistency of the taste overtime, pack after pack, cup after cup. Aiello’s blends are a true pleasure, to be enjoyed on your own or shared with family and friends.
Your favorite made in Italy coffee.
It's all about the culture of the Italian Espresso. Fall in love with this extraordinary aroma.
Espresso, or simply “il caffe” as typically called, is the most consumed beverage in Italy. It’s not just a habit or part of the daily routine, is it a Love Story that’s been going on for centuries. It is a cult, it is the beverage Italians would typically offer you when you visit their home. In Italy it is always a good time for coffee, you will never be wrong if you offer un caffe, no matter what time it is. Italians don’t drink their caffe from a take out cup since they won’t drink it while walking or rushing somewhere. Il caffe needs to be drunk at a bar counter or better seated, because you must take the time, even short, to savour it, enjoy the aroma and the after-taste it leaves behind. And if somebody in Italy claims he or she needs a coffee, no matter if you are in the middle of a meeting or about to start one, you grant them the time to have it because you simply respect that urge as if they were taking a lifesaving remedy! This is in a few words what Espresso is to Italians.
Crema: not some kind of product of milk, but that flavorful honey-gold brown froth that gives that “guiness” effect on top of your coffee. Gusto: full-bodied persistent flavor. Aroma: one of the primary coffee qualities denoting a coffee's flavor. Tostatura: the roasting. Italian coffee producers typically use a medium roast, since you don’t need a dark roast for a better tasting espresso with a rich crema, frankly quite the opposite. Barista: in Italy the person who prepares and serves beverages, primarily espresso and espresso-based hot and cold beverages at the cafe. Finding the favorite barista is quite a big deal for Italians, it’s like finding your person, the irreplaceable one, not just for the ability of preparing your favorite tasting espresso, but also for becoming your “confessor”, the person who will always listen to whatever story you have to tell...no judgement. Moka: coffee pot that is never missing in Italians’ homes. One last thing, it's Espresso, not Expresso!
